How it works

Replace hosted services with apps on your own computer. The software is free; you supply the hardware and electricity.

  1. 01

    Find an old computer

Use a compatible x86_64 computer you can dedicate to the server. Check hardware requirements before installing.

  2. 02

Boot it from a USB stick

Flash the free image, plug the stick in, boot from it. Setting up erases that computer’s whole disk, so use one you are done with.

  3. 03

Set it up from your phone

Open start.local on the same network. Set a password, save the recovery phrase, and paste your claim code. Ask us for that code before you start, there is a link in the footer.

  4. 04

    Pick your subdomain

That name becomes yourbox.serverstick.com. Every app you install gets its own address under it, reachable from anywhere, not just your house.

  5. 05

    Pick your services

One click each, from the 52-app catalogue. These are the ones most people start with.
